The executive will be working with Robert Sanchez and Jose-Antonio Buenaño to strengthen the firm’s presence in LatAm.
Edgewater Markets, a Technology Provider in the global Forex market, announced on Monday that it had hired Michael Cleary as its new Director of Sales, based in the New York’s headquarters. According to a press release shared with Finance Magnates, Cleary will focus mainly on LatAm sales, working alongside Robert Sanchez and Jose-Antonio Buenaño.
Prior to his appointment at the technology provider, the new Head of Sales, with 15-years of experience within the industry, worked at Tullett Prebon, where he held the role of senior sales broker. Also, his professional background includes firms like Tradition Securities & Derivatives and ICAP Capital Markets. “With his extensive experience building relationships with clients from global banks in Mexico and New York, and depth of knowledge, both in the swap and derivative sides of electronic FX trading, Mike will generate new opportunities to Edgewater’s current business lines and partnerships. I am delighted he is joining our team,” Skovran Schreder, Edgewater Markets’ CEO and Co-Founder commented.
Moreover, Robert Sanchez, Managing Director and Head of LatAm at the company highlighted the importance of hiring Cleary to strengthen Edgewater Markets’ offering within the region. “We are pleased to welcome Michael to Edgewater. Since 2009, we have been offering the FX market access to Latin America, and we see great opportunities to further strengthen our offering in the region,” he said.
Distributing EDGE LatAm Product
Commenting on his appointment to a brand-new role created by the company, Cleary expects to help expand Edgewater’s EDGE LATAM product.
“This is a great opportunity for me to drive further growth and to further develop distribution of Edgewater’s innovative EDGE LATAM product; working with all regions for spot FX distribution to my network of clients and relationships, both in New York and globally,” Cleary added.
Early this year, Edgewater Markets rehired Jerry Chan as eFX Manager in the London office. Chan first joined Edgewater Markets in 2015 in its Singapore office.
